Escaping the heat of the city

Summer in Valbruna

Excursions surrounded by nature

The Municipality of Malborghetto-Valbruna is located in the Canale Valley, nestled between the Carnic and Julian Alps. It is an ideal place for walking, cycling and hiking for all ages and levels of experience. Austria and Slovenia are close by, giving you the opportunity to visit picturesque places just a few kilometres away.

A multicultural holiday

Thanks to its privileged position, from Tarvisio you can visit the most important tourist resorts in Italy, Austria and Slovenia all in the space of a single day. You can also visit Venice, the city of wonders, which is only 200 kilometres away. Departing from our hotel, we organise trips and excursions for large and small groups.

The Resonance Spruce Forest

In this particularly valuable forest formation, there are numerous spruce trees that are particularly suitable for the production of high-quality musical instruments. Discover the nature trails that start from Hotel Saisera. The itineraries are fully signposted and include information panels describing the resonance characteristics of the spruce and the complex art of violin making.

Excursions

Our territory offers a wide range of itineraries for all tastes and ages, from the valley floor to the highest peaks. An itinerary not to be missed is the Pellegrino trail all the way up to Monte Lussari, where the Sanctuary is also located (easily reached by cable car). One of the treasures of our territory is certainly the area of the Fusine Lakes, two easily accessible bodies of water that reflect the majesty of our mountains on their crystal clear surface.

Mountaineering

Have you always wanted to learn to climb or are you a dedicated mountaineer? Then you have come to the right place! Our Alps, which were also climbed by the mountaineer and writer Julius Kugy, and the indoor climbing hall are the ideal venues to learn to climb or to have fun if you are already an expert.

Bicycle touring

The Alpe Adria Cycle Route is an 8-stage itinerary that crosses the entire territory of the Three Borders, from the mountains to the sea: the route starts in Salzburg and ends in Grado, passing through Tarvisio. For mountain bike lovers, both beginners and professionals, the Tarvisiano also features a wide range of routes that wind through flowery meadows, woods, along streams and forest roads, where fun is guaranteed.

Golf

That’s right: golf in the mountains! An 18-hole course through woods, gentle slopes and enchanting lakes, just a few kilometres from Malborghetto.

Adventure Oark

If you have always dreamed of pretending to be Tarzan, the Sella Nevea Adventure Park is the perfect place for you! Set in an 8,000 square metre forest, it is a treetop course with walkways, pulleys, ropes, lianas and Tibetan bridges. Perfect for both adults and children to experience adventures in complete safety.

Dog Trekking

Have you ever wondered what Huskies do in the summertime? Equipped with a safe and comfortable harness, your four-legged friends from the Fusine Mushing School will take you on long walks through nature. The perfect activity for the whole family!

Itineraries of the Great War

Both Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Tarvisiano are rich in historical artefacts that help us rediscover and relive the events that involved our soldiers at the front. An inspiring and captivating way to explore these events is to visit the open-air museums and itineraries of the Great War, steeped in history and with breathtaking views of stunning landscapes.

Water sports

Diving into crystal-clear waters, rappelling next to roaring waterfalls, plunging down steep natural rapids: this is canyoning along the Rio Alba, a truly exhilarating experience!

Rail bobsled

This is an adrenaline-pumping 1km track with 830 metres of downhill racing and almost 100 metres of vertical drop! The sleds have two seats so adults and children can enjoy the thrill of speed in safety.

Experience Nature in the Julian Alps

With the FVG Card you can go hiking, walking, caving, and enjoy historical tours, carriage rides and many other activities with the best nature guides to discover the treasures of our territory… for free!

Malga Montasio

An enchanting place that is easily reached by car and a short walk. A typical building of the Friulian mountains lets you spend the night at high altitude and taste the dairy products of the cows that graze freely. This is the starting point of the trails that will take you to the summit of the awe-inspiring Jôf di Montasio mountain.
